27th because of this article from October 28th:    The second paragraph says 
“contacted at the Sands Hotel where he finished out a show stand last night.”  
I took that to mean the 27th.  I saw no ad for the Sands however in the Las 
Vegas Review Journal on the 27th with the last ad appearing on the 26th but not 
saying anything about it being the last night.  I also assumed that if he 
opened on Wednesday then he would have closed on a Tuesday being October 27th.  
My logic might be flawed though.    Scott              I left a lot out of what 
I learned. Frank's interview with Louella Parsons, his comments coming out of 
the hearing on 10/31,his phone conversations with Ava and how Entratter 
intervened to protect Frank. I decided it was way too much. I called twoVegas 
libraries and got a lot of info. Unfortunately, Frank's sensational debut at 
the Sands took backseat to the marriage breakup.That story dominated the papers 
all through the month. I went with the possibility he continued at the Sands 
based on the Varietyarticle and the big party and entertainment on Halloween. 
But he may have just done an in-house performance. I can tell youthat the 
opening night date was a great find by you. I discovered so many different 
opening night claims. They started withthe 4th of the month and went right up 
to the 19th. I think his behavior was absoluely manic throughout the three plus 
weeksat the Sands.Ed
