There is session material from this date floating out there among collectors.
Frank had a fun time with Berlin's classic, including a breakdown attempt that
had him making up some very unacceptable lyrics for 1947. "Poinciana" was a
song Sinatra was familiar with and required only minimal effort. The song from
his upcoming MGM film was rather easy and only required a few takes. The
last tune starts off great. After take one, Frank says, "Now that you've heard
it, let's make a record." A record would eventually be realized but would
require more than another take. In all Frank would do six recordings from
1943 thru 1947 of "The Music Stopped," including a V-Disc.

note: Harriet Gainsboro was a 15 year old who lived in Newton Centre, Massachusetts. Harriet adored The Voice.
In September of 1944, she developed acute appendicitis. After an emergency operation, Harriet recovered at home,
while listening to Frankie sing. A friend wrote to Frank and asked him to send Harriet an autographed picture. After
the photo arrived, the friend decided to ask for the moon: Could Harriet meet Frank when she was strong enough to
travel. Harriet was stunned when the telegram arrived with the news that Frank definitely wanted to meet her. Here
is a photo of Harriet, backstage at the Ritz Theater, standing next to Frank as he autographs, for her, his script from
"Take It Or Leave It.," on Sunday evening, October 29, 1944. Frank then asked Harriet and her family if they would
like to see him perform, that evening, at the Paramount Theater engagement.

Center with a Sunday evening performance also featuring
Marlene Ricci and Jackie Gayle. With tickets ranging in

a success that a new wing of the center will be named
in honor of Mr. Sinatra.
