| Frank Sinatra opens the Knickerbocker Arena |
| On Jan. 30, 1990, Frank Sinatra made the trip to Albany to christen the newly
opened Knickerbocker Arena. From our story that ran the next day:
"Black ties and fancy gowns were everywhere, conversation was in the air, but
when the lights went down the hush of excitement meant only one thing — that
the big moment was finally here, Frank Sinatra in the Knickerbocker Arena. And
then the hush was a roar. Here we go, the man said, fasten your seat belts. The
Voice may have a few ragged edges from the years, but God bless us all if we
could've sung at birth the way Sinatra can still do at 74."
