Agree! Those Old Gold Shows with Janie, as FS referred to her, were some of
the best shows of that series!

7 Brides for 7 Brothers is still one of my all time favorites.

Subject: [sinatraphiles] JANE POWELL
Jane Powell died yesterday. She was 92 years old.
Jane was the distaff singer on 21 of Sinatra's Old
Gold Shows, starting with the Christmas show of
1946, she was on the rest of the series, including
the shows Frank missed in February 47. They were
a wonderful team who eschewed most of the silly
skits and offered the listeners many memorable half-
hours of great music.
