NOTE: Sinatra Scholar Ed O'Brien reports that Reprise taped a segment
of Frank's Ceasars show on January 20th including the songs shown
here. He wasn't pleased and decided to do studio recordings. After
the session, he told Bill Miller that the piano only accompaniments
were a great idea and they would start laying down a couple of songs
at the end of the sessions. O'Brien wishes that Frank had been in
better voice for the songs with Bill. There are a number of concert
performances in which he did far superior vocals on both tunes. In
concert, "I Sing the Songs" was a rousing success. Often the singer
received a standing ovation in mid-song. Didn't really translate to
the studio recording.
