Note: This was the final recording session for the film
MGM in a desperate effort to salvage the film tried
to add a few more musical numbers. It didn't work.
The studio held up its release for more than a year.
Released on 11-19-48, it was savaged by the critics
and bombed at the box office. Grayson in an interview
many years later called it the worst film of her career.
Sinatra agreed. Was it the worst? I don't think so. Any
film with Sinatra singing a number of songs plus the
lavish MGM technicolor is far superior to some of
the films he did in the 60s.

     A few days ago I stumbled upon a Variety review of Sinatra at Caesars
in March of 1976.
The review isn't very favorable, but I'll cover what is worth knowing.

Marquee looked like this:

Frank was there from 2-26 thru March 9. He was dark
on Wednesdays.
Cover: $30.00 minimum

I would guess this is where he introduced Sedaka's "The
Hungry Years." Reviewer did not like Frank's uptempo
treatment of "Let Me Try Again." He states it is no longer
a pretty song but rather ugly the way it emerges in a new
dress. Frank was playing to overflow crowds. The show
Variety reviewed was March 2. Sammy Davis would follow
Frank, opening on 3-11 and playing a one-week stint.
Frank and Co, including Butera, Henry and Williams, would
move over to the South Shore Room, Harrah's in Lake Tahoe,
for the weekend ( 12-14 -- 2 shows a night) At Caesars, Frank's
mike went dead during "My Way." The lyrics were picked up by
Paul Anka, who was in the audience; he then joined Frank on
stage for a duet  of "Our Way." I'll bet the line up of songs was
pretty much the same at both Caesars and Harrah's. After closing
at Harrah's, Frank flew back to L.A. where he attended a Friars Stag
Roast for Pat Henry (16).
