NOTE: Sinatra Scholar Ed O'Brien reports that Sinatra recorded this song
three times. First one done on December 2, 1948 at RKO for the film "It's
Only the Money."  He then did he best of the three recordings at Columbia
with the Phil Moore Four and finally the February 23, 1950 at Columbia. The
first and third were duet with Jane Rusell. The final effort was done in an
attempt to get Howard Hughes to release the film. He finally did in December
of 1951, retitled "Double Dynamite."

Ed O'Brien notes:
I was puzzled for years about this recording,
Why was it incomplete? Frank was in the process
of recording the great "Wee Small Hours" in February
of 55. What happened? Well, Vince DeRosa, the
French horn player, told me. As the session progressed
that evening, Sinatra became less and less thrilled with
the Richard Jones arrangement. They tried to work it out,
but to no avail. Session was then scrapped.

FRANK SINATRA JAILED;NEARLY MISSES A SHOW
HARTFORD, CONN.
Frank Sinatra, the singer with Tommy Dorsey,was arrested and jailed here two
weeks ago
while the band was playing the State Theatre.  Sinatra was walking across a
street near
the theater-jay- walking at that-when a cop yelled at him asking him to wait
for the light.
"I'm already half across now," Sinatra yelled back. The cop didn't care. He
walked over,
nabbed Sinatra, and took him to jail. Sinatra explained he was a "figure of
national import-
ance" and was due on the stage any minute.  Police told Frank to get another
"figure of
national importance" to help him. Finally, with Dorsey's manager Bobby Burns
on hand,
Sinatra was freed after paying $10 for a ticket to a police benefit. He made
the show
in time.

1942 Hollywood Palladium, California (Dec. 30, 1941 - Feb. 23, 1942)
Tommy Dorsey & His Orchestra

note: The Palladium was a four week engagement. TD and Co  were setting all
time attendance records and the manage-
ment extended their stay for an additional four weeks. The band attracted
over 130,000 dancers at a price of
65 cents to $1.00. Variety predicted the new b.o. record would stand for a
very long time.
During this run, Dorsey let RCA know that he was in  contact with Columbia
Records and was close to signing
a long term deal. RCA responded by offering Dorsey a guaranteed $2,500 per
record. This was unheard of in
the record industry at that time. A band received that amount only when a
record reached 100,000 in sales.
And no band was able to average such sales on a regular basis. T.D.
immediately inked a new deal with Nipper's label.
A few days before closing, the band went over to March Field to give a big
sendoff to Joe Bushkin, who was now
in the army. Joe was assigned to a band, but not as a  piano player. The
military needed a trumpet player.

When Sinatra performed with Joe E. Lewis I am quite sure there was quite a
lot of comedy, what I would like to know is, did they sing any duets during
the show.

Ed O'Brien:
Yes, they did. Cahn & Van Heusen wrote special material for the early 65
Eden Roc in Miami and the Sands in Vegas.
I believe Chester left all of that material to the UCLA library.
