Belgium. Crosby did a recording in September45 and Tommy Dorsey in October 45
with Stuart Foster and TheSentimentalists doing the vocal honors. The latter
version peakedat #15 and charted for four weeks in Billboard. Belgium sheet
musicclaimed Sinatra's version was recorded for Columbia Records.
DorseyBrothers published the sheet music. In the fall of 45, there was athaw
between T.D. and his former vocalist. Frank might have agreedto go along with
the foreign publication. I can find no evidence thatthe sheet music was
published in America. This morning I dug outa CD with Foster singing the song.
It isn't much of a song. I am very surprised Mr. Crosby bothered with it.Ed
