Hi, I am trying to use Sib Access not just for composing but for learning
piano pieces to perform. A sighted friend is inputting notes for me. There
are two issues I'd like to ask the group about. One is that I try to use
playback to proofread what my friend is done. Maybe I don't understand
Sibelius playback very well.
I start at the beginning and press p to begin playback. Say for example I
hear something 20 bars in that sounds like a wrong note. I want to stop the
playback and go back a little in the score and listen again through the
possible error spot. Say the problem is in bar 20, by the time I react we
are at about bar 21, and what I really want to do is to back up to bar 19
and listen to it go through bar 20 again.
I press spacebar to stop the playback, but cannot figure out how to navigate
backwards in the score. My friend says I should be able to press the left
bracket key (located to the right of the letter p) to go back one object in
the score, that I should be able to just press the left bracket key however
many times I want, then press spacebar again to restart playback. I am
trying what he suggested, but only sometimes when I press the left bracket
six times or so I can get it to move backwards a few notes, sometimes it
doesn't even do that and keeps replaying from where I stopped the playback.
Pressing the left arrow doesn't seem to help, I believe the focus of the
cursor is still on the first note of the piece, not where the playback was
stopped.
