OK, you may be bringing up something important about the repeat signs.
As an example, if I have
bar 10 - start repeat
bar 20 first ending, finishing with an end repeat
bar 30 2nd ending
bar 40 end repeat
Is this OK, or is it considered unbalanced?
This is a common structure in jazz, a player improvises on the entirety of
bars 10-40 in a cyclic way, and the start repeat at bar 10 serves a double
purpose, pairing with both the end of the first ending and the end of the
measures after the second ending.
I feel I have used this structure in dozens of Sibelius files without
problem, but I will look through this particular file as I do have a memory
of deleting a repeat sign somewhere, and I might have made a mistake.

Check the repeat barlines and 1st and 2nd endings. If the repeat barlines
are not paired correctly and the last ending line is not open, then this
means that Sibelius is confused about bar numbering.

I cannot understand why you are encountering the problem. However, go into
the layout menu, engraving options, bar numbers. Something there should
help, I would think.

I have a problem with missing bar numbers in my score. Every bar after bar
37 has no bar number associated with it, and according to a sighted

it's not just that it isn't being spoken aloud, they have also disappeared
from the visual display.
This is what I did before the problem started, although I have no idea why
what I did should cause any result like this.
I pressed control and highlighted bar 16, then shift and highlighted bar
37.
I copied and pasted after 37, which should insert all these measures there
and push bar 38 etc. behind the pasted in material.
Now all the measures after the original bar 37 have no bar numbers
associated with them. I cannot even add a single bar in a normal way (alt
+
b) after 37 without the same result. I cannot think of what might be
special
about this bar 37, it has a few notes and an end repeat sign.
I tried going into bar 38 and create > other > bar number change and
within
that dialog box tried both the option to follow previous bar and the
option
to start a new number, neither solved the problem. When I navigate to what
should be bar 38, Sibelius Access says "bar number change", but does not
say
38 as I asked it to.
Obviously I am doing something wrong, but I feel I've done this many times
before without this problem. If anyone can suggest something to try or a
workaround, many thanks.
