Dale,

For once you have me stumped. I know what you're talking about and it's a
slur that follows the notes from one staff to the other. But I sure don't
know any special name for it other than slur. For lack of anything better,
call it a "Cross-staff slur" or a "Cross-hand slur".

Subject: [sib-access] Terminology for Hand Slurs

Hello, Everyone,

What is the technical term for what is in braille called a hand slur? So
this is a legato indication somehow transferring from one hand-part of a
piano score to the other. I remember Dan having a different name for it. I
am needing to communicate that concept to an engraver, and want to be well
prepared for the discussion. And, as I recall, there is no way for us to
accomplish such a slur without assistance, correct?

Thanks for chiming in. I like it when you do that.

Dale
