I sent out requests for information and received no replies. I no longer expect
to get any. Therefore, I am simply going to tell you that what you need is a
connector which is lightning male to USB female. This assumes that your phone
has a lightning connector. Does it? If not, then you need an adapter which is
mail to fit your old style phone and USB female on the other end. No idea where
you would get that sort of connector anymore. This last applies if your phone
is an iPhone 5 or older. Again, what model of iPhone do you use?
Have I stopped using Sibelius? No. For my production work, I still have one of
the few copies of scripts for Sibelius six the Dan created and gave to four
people for testing many years ago. I have copies of Sibelius 7.51 and 8.X. I
know how to use these. However, they are not sufficiently accessible for work
in the real world yet. This may change sooner than we think. Sorry I can't be
more helpful.

to it if you use a powered adapter. I use my XKey without any power
adapters.
I’m going to check with a couple more friends to make sure this is the
device you need. I think the manager you’re talking to has simply never
thought of connecting anything other than a camera with this adapter.
For the record, what iPad do you have? I notice that this adapter is not
listed as being compatible with any iPhones, which surprises me because the
adapter should physically be the same, USB3 Female to Lightning Male.
