I tried the link you provided, but it would only let me listen to the tune.
It wouldn't let me download the PDF unless I set up an account with
Musescore, which doesn't seem to make sense to me since the downloads are
free. Is there any other way I could find a reference version to help me
with this notation?

Hi Annabelle
I have seen it written in 3/4 but Saint-Saens originally wrote it in 6/4.
If you want to save time you can download a MusicXML file of this from the
MuseScore website. There is a violin and piano version at:

Hope that helps.

Subject: [sib-access] Notating For Music Box: What Meter Is This?
Hi, it's Annabelle.
I'm trying to notate a version of Camille Saint-Saens' tune, "The Swan".
Specifically, I'm trying to notate it for music box, and I'm wondering, what
time signature should I use. To me, the piece sounds like it's in 3/4 time,
but then again, it could be 6/8, 9/8, or even 12/8. I'm confused on this
one! Does anybody have any pointers?
