Chi,
I run Windows 7 without updates on my music machine, and it works just fine
for me. I will continue to run Windows 7 on that machine and any other one I
build for as long as I have a computer. Hopefully that will be for the rest
of my natural life! Updating Windows 7 leads to disaster for me, as it
breaks compatibility with JAWS. Upgrading to Windows 10 is out of the
question for me, since I don't have $1,000 to update the Software
Maintenance Agreement I have with JAWS, which only goes up to JAWS 15. Back
to Sibelius Accessibility. I sent an off-list Email to Dan, as I haven't
heard anything from him on the list since June 7, 2019 at 12:51 AM. In that
email, he specifically said he was going to release the scripts for Sibelius
Access 6 at the end of the summer. I haven't seen or heard anything new, and
it's now almost November! Does he still check his emails?

Google Group works exactly like a mailing list, so you can post new topic
and respond using via email.
Also I'm sure people will continue to use Sib 5 with Dan's script, and
people can discuss here.
However, just note, "After January 14, 2020, "Microsoft will no longer
provide security updates or support for PCs running Windows 7."
Another reason to switch to latest Sibelius.

Hi All,
What do people think about the idea of discussing new Sibelius
accessibility feature on Google Group? I propose this for the following
1. Google Groups has much better searching and archiving system, soFreelist.
people should be able to find information better.
2. Sib Access on FreeList says "Discussion group providing mutual
support for Sibelius Access, a free set of JAWS scripts providing
access to the Sibelius music program."
3. Freelist is outdated, and Google Group is easier to manage.
We can encourage people to migrate to the new Google Group, or people
can continue to discuss Sibelius Access script for Sibelius 5 here on
Does anyone have strong opinion against the idea?
Also if you think we need a different name, please let me know your
suggestion.
If not, I'll invite everyone to join sibaccess on Google Group.
