Dan, Curiously, I was doing this at a zoom level other than 400%. If I go to 400%, the underscore does draw itself. However, in some cases, JAWS doesn't read the entire measure and beat location after pressing the space bar. It might say something like bar 10 quarter, instead of bar ten, quarter three. I'll have more for you on this as I keep going in the project. What happens if you wait before pressing space a second time? I always thought that if you type a syllable and then hit the space bar twice, a dash should appear under the succeeding note indicating that the previous syllable is extended. However, this doesn't work reliably. When I can get it to work, it only seems to work when I write a syllable, exit lyrics so that the syllable is highlighted, then re-enter the lyrics field at that point and then hit a space bar. What am I doing wrong?
