Annabell,
As far as I know, half staccato (or what Italian call "mezzo
staccato), would be shown by a dot as the staccato sign uup or down a
little line, dipending on the position of the note head. If note head
is up, then it's put a little line then a dot relatively up, and
viceversa. I suppose it is not so common to write such an
articulation. Dipending on your duration and speed, you can choose
either staccato or tenuto. If your duration or speed is performed
fast, so staccato would work well. If it's slow, then I suggest you to
use tenuto for not to be the note legato to the next one.
