SI-LIST: As many may have noticed, si-list was conspicuous by it's absence since last Tuesday. This morning message traffic started to flow again. There was a software problem with the list server at freelists.com related to numerous filesystem locks that weren't being cleared for unknown reasons. The sysops think it is related to some issue with the reiserfs (which they plan on migrating away from sometime in the next several months). The list is running normally again, but since the real root cause is still not fully understood, the potential for another 'deadlock' situation is still there. John Madden (the head tech guy at freelists.org) is monitoring the situation in case the problem reappears in the near term. Thanks to John and the other sysops at freelists.org for resolving the problem. -Ray Anderson (si-list admin) ray.anderson@xxxxxxxxxx This email and any attachments are intended for the sole use of the named recipient(s) and contain(s) confidential information that may be proprietary, privileged or copyrighted under applicable law.
