Lin, yes a faster edge will show a larger and narrower peaks for a given localized reactance. Think of the rise time as defining a "box car" low-pass function. A slow rise time averages the characteristics over a long section of the path, so disturbances get longer and flatter until eventually with a slow enough edge, they are not perceptible at all. Conversely, a sharp edge shows more and more detail, including the fixturing.
