Hello Everyone,
Connector launches are probably the most difficult to design parts of PCB
interconnects. To understand and explain how a launch for coaxial connector
works, I have just recorded and uploaded a demo-video with the visualization
of power flow, em fields and surface currents at
https://youtu.be/LhQGmgUCxpk ;
It is really fun to watch how the signal energy is guarded by stitching
vias, pushed through small anti-pads and explodes when the launch loses the
localization. The analysis of the launch used in the demo is properly
validated with CMP-28 platform from Wild River Technology up to 50 GHz.
