Mike, 

Yes, the vacation messages are annoying - I've just had same number coming back 
to me. 
However, those messages are meant to serve a useful purpose in our everyday 
working/business environments. We can be annoyed by them but the reality is 
that they 
will always be there.

Whenever I send a message to the SI-list, I wait for about 5 minutes and 
quickly delete 
all "out-of-office" notifications I receive. They usually come in a burst and 
for that 
reason it takes almost nothing to select and delete them.
