We currently have an opening for a Senior Engineering Technician to join
our R&D team. I'm posting it here because one of the facets is si device
characterization, active and passive*.

Broadcom is currently looking for a Senior Engineering Technician to join
our R&D team located at corporate headquarters in Andover, MA. This
individual will be responsible for managing the engineering laboratory, and
providing support to the Sandburst engineering team. The support will
include manufacturing support of prototype and test boards, test,
troubleshoot, and repair of these systems, test equipment calibration and
maintenance, and general support of the engineering lab.  

Other Specific Requirements:
-       Debugging microprocessor and high speed serial I/O boards
-       Assisting in board bring up
-       Basic testing of hardware and software by running scripts written by
engineers
-       Maintaining basic documentation such as ECO's and lab procedures
-       Parts ordering and kitting from a BOM
-       Inventory management of components and boards
-       *Signal integrity measurements on boards
-       Interface with third party contract manufacturers
-       Component level troubleshooting of faulty systems
 
The candidate with the most likely success in this position will have the
following experience:
-       Minimum 5+ years as an engineering technician in an R&D environment
-       Hands-on board rework skills, including fine pitch SMD's
-       Use of Microsoft Office software such as Visio, Word, Excel
-       Researching parts, data sheets, suppliers, etc. for design engineers
-       Ability to work from schematics, block diagrams, and written or
verbal instructions
-       Use of a parts and inventory management database tool
-       Use test equipment including digital oscilloscopes, logic analyzers,
signal generators and specialized test equipment
-       ASEET or similar degree
