Hi Jason,
The penalty for FEC is more power and additive latency. Not sure about the
power numbers, probably several mW per lane.

Hello!
I would like to know if more power is used by a receiver when using RS FEC
vs not using RS FEC at 25.78125 Gbps. Does anyone know the penalty in watts
when RS FEC is active?

Thank you!
