Generally speaking, if you've both boards avoid the use of cost adding = features (or use the same cost adding features) such as blind/buried = vias, controlled impedance, etc then the cost is mainly driven by layer = count. So: fewer layers .EQ. less money more layers .EQ. more money -----Original Message----- From: si-list-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:si-list-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Budathoki, Trilok (GE Consumer & Industrial) Sent: Wednesday, 22 September, 2004 12:24 AM To: si-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Cc: kevin98146@xxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [SI-LIST] Re: PCB Stackup - 4 vs 6 layers Kevin, Discuss it with your vendor. You have to just define the board thickness = =3D & matched impedance. Vendors can then give you the options depending on the best stack, core = =3D thickness & dielectric constant of prepeg. Hope it helps.
