Generally speaking, if you've both boards avoid the use of cost adding =
features (or use the same cost adding features) such as blind/buried =
vias, controlled impedance, etc then the cost is mainly driven by layer =
count. So:

fewer layers .EQ. less money
more layers .EQ. more money

Kevin,

Discuss it with your vendor. You have to just define the board thickness =
=3D
& matched impedance.
Vendors can then give you the options depending on the best stack, core =
=3D
thickness & dielectric constant of prepeg.
Hope it helps.

Thanks

Given both PCBs have the same dimensions (Width and length) and =3D
thickness,=3D20
which stackup is cheaper to build?

4-layer PCB with a big core

Sig
GND
Big Core
PWR
Sig

or 6-layer PCB with a smaller core

Sig
GND
Sig
Smaller Core
Sig
PWR
Sig

Thanks,
Kevin
