Senior HW Design Engineer

Senior HW Design Engineer
The Senior HW Design Engineer is responsible to carry out all HW development 
tasks, from product HW definition, design capture, debug, testing support, 
through to release to production. The person is responsible for interfacing 
with 
other disciplines such as: Product Management, Program Management, Software 
Development, RF/Antenna Design, Mechanical Engineering, System Integration and 
Testing, Compliance and Certification Team, Manufacturing Engineering etc. 

 
Responsibilities
·         Participate in product definition phase, reviewing product 
specifications, providing feedback to Product Management.
·         Working with System Architects in finding best possible HW 
architecture to meet cost/feature/schedule requirement.
·         Creating specifications such as HW Design, Engineering test plans etc.
·         Performing design entry tasks including component schematics symbol 
creation, schematics entry, critical component placement, initiating design 
peer 
reviews and reviews with other teams, supervising overall placement and routing 
etc.
·         Supervising release of design package to manufacturing, supporting 
FAB/Assembly houses during builds
·         Performing proto bring-up debug, testing and verification
·         Assisting in EMC/EMI Certification process, systems integration and 
testing phase during issues resolution
·         Performing PLM related tasks such as component creation, BoM entry, 
part numbers creation, ECO creation/sign-off etc.
·         Managing HW portion during product release phase
·         Participating in quality reviews 
 
Qualifications
·         University degree in BSEE is required
·         8+ years of board level HW design experience in product development 
environment
·         2+ years of mixed signal design experience
·         Experience in embedded system design is a must
·         Experience in Zuken CR5000 design suite is an asset
·         Capability in PCB assembly reworking surface mount components is an 
asset
·         Strong interpersonal and communication skills are a must
 
 
Position Type: Full time permanent
Availability: Immediately/short notice
Location: Markham Ontario
Travel: Less than 5% of time
