Hello Everyone, If anyone is interested I will be teaching an on-line course in power integrity and noise coupling in integrated circuits at UCLA Extension from June 23 to September 25. Course Description: The course spans over 11 weeks and has flexible schedule and assignment due dates to easily accommodate working professionals and full-time students. The on-line format allows participation from U.S and International locations. The main focus is to build a strong understanding of the physical principles that describe the power integrity and noise coupling in integrated circuits and to develop the analysis skills needed by engineers to create robust designs and efficient solutions to complex problems in their daily work. The learning approach balances qualitative and quantitative analysis methods with practical intuitive techniques for understanding the physical phenomena. Design Project: Along this course participants will work on a design project in which they develop and optimize the power delivery network of a system made of a chip mounted on a package and the package mounted on a printed circuit board. A first order design will be done through hand calculations and then simulation and optimization of decoupling capacitors will be done using Chipquake Power Integrity Explorer software from noisecoupling.com.
