Dear friends, I am loosing faith in the HSPICE fieldsolver W element on transmission line at long distant and very high speed. One alternative I am looking into is to use frequency dependent tabular W models especially coupled with TDR or SNA measurements I can do in the lab. While The R,L,C part of the matrix is relatively easy to understand and model, I am having a hard time visualizing the off diagonal elements in the G matrix. Conventional thinking suggest the diagonal Gii elements can be used to model dielectric loss, I haven't seen any reference to what is the meaning of the Gij's and how to determine it experimentally. So the question is : a) Is it even worth generating Gij numbers or simply ignore it ? b) If Gij are needed, how to determine them experimentally ? ------------------------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe from si-list: si-list-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the Subject field or to administer your membership from a web page, go to: //www.freelists.org/webpage/si-list For help: si-list-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'help' in the Subject field List FAQ wiki page is located at: http://si-list.org/wiki/wiki.pl?Si-List_FAQ List technical documents are available at: http://www.si-list.org List archives are viewable at: //www.freelists.org/archives/si-list or at our remote archives: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/si-list/messages Old (prior to June 6, 2001) list archives are viewable at: http://www.qsl.net/wb6tpu
