Dear friends,
I am loosing faith in the HSPICE fieldsolver W element on transmission line
at long distant and very high speed. One alternative I am looking into is to
use frequency dependent tabular W models especially coupled with TDR or SNA
measurements I can do in the lab. While The R,L,C part of the matrix is
relatively easy to understand and model, I am having a hard time visualizing
the off diagonal elements in the G matrix. Conventional thinking suggest the
diagonal Gii elements can be used to model dielectric loss, I haven't seen
any reference to what is the meaning of the Gij's and how to determine it
experimentally.
So the question is :
a) Is it even worth generating Gij numbers or simply ignore it ?
b) If Gij are needed, how to determine them experimentally ?
