Senior FPGA Engineer position in Nashua, NH.
An experienced FPGA engineer to collaborate with Software, Hardware, Product
Owner, Sales, and Marketing in order to architect and design, implement, test,
and integrate FPGA solutions for all DDR technologies, LPDDR3, LPDDR4, LPDDR5,
DDR3, DDR4, DDR5 for the design of Test and Measurement Instruments.
Requires a proven track record working on complex designs in a fast paced
environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Responsible for all aspects of FPGA development (75%)
* Translate product specification into a preliminary FPGA architecture and
block diagrams
* Negotiate with product owner and design team on what constitutes a
useful FPGA design output for the external and internal customers.
* Create minimal and concise documentation for FPGA design geared towards
testability with minimal dependency on system software for unit testing.
* Implement RTL using Verilog/System Verilog with Quartus tools.
* Perform mini-design reviews throughout a sprint.
* Develop and execute test methods for design verification of FPGA modules
and for integration with software and hardware
* Maintain revision control using SVN
* Support (20%)
* Perform failure mode and effects analyses (FMEA)
* R&D or investigations requests by customers, product owner, software, and
hardware.
* Collaborate in the organization's development (5%)
* Participate in meetings like daily scrum
* Assist work colleagues
* Collaborate to develop the organization's administrative procedures like
Agile
Qualifications and Preferences
* Educated to degree level in electronic engineering or equivalent
education gained through work experiences
* 3+ years' experience of complex, high performance, parallel pipeline,
FPGA design
* Proficiency with Altera FPGA and all aspects of Quartus tools and its
workflow
* Working knowledge of PCIE, DDR3/4 memory controller
* Previous experience with Logic Analyzer and Logic Compliance preferred
* Thorough knowledge of electronics system design highly preferred
* Functional knowledge LPDDR4/5 and/or DDR4/5. Knowledge of JEDEC
specification preferred
* Ability to rapidly adapt to new technologies and assess their
potential impact and usefulness within the company
* An ability to work within tight deadlines and manage time effectively
* Team orientated, responsive and customer focused
* Strong written/verbal communication skills
* Ability to work in group setting and to follow through on commitments
* Know when to lead and when to follow
