One reason IBIS models and data sheets are provided under NDA is that when you get the IBIS model and data sheet, you have the pinout of the device. This prevents the competion from making a footprint compatible device since, if they did, they would have been violating an NDA and are then vulnerable to legal actions. -----Original Message----- From: si-list-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:si-list-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Aubrey_Sparkman@xxxxxxxx Sent: Friday, June 16, 2006 12:38 PM To: joel@xxxxxxxxxx; si-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [SI-LIST] Re: How to get Intel IBIS models Probably not. When you receive the IBIS data for such a protected model, it will probably be given to you in a password protected .zip file. The response was that although we already have a NDA that we needed a RSNDA (secret NDA) which would take 3 to 4 weeks in order to get the IBIS models. I find this odd that Intel makes it difficult to obtain IBIS models on their parts when Intel was a main driving force behind the IBIS specification and that most other companies freely distribute IBIS models on their web sites. Am I perhaps being misled by our Intel rep?
