Hi,
How to calculate power plane impedance from S-parameter file?
I know for sure, if we have a VRM model measured with a VNA
(shunt-through mode) into a 2-port S-parameter file, then we can
calculate the VRM output impedance as Z(f) = 25* (S21/(1-S21)), that
is between the VRM output and ground.
But...
If we have a simulated power plane model, as a 2-port S-parameter
file, where port-1 is at the VRM, port-2 is at the load (ASIC), then
how to calculate:
- series impedance and DCR
- shunt impedance between plane and ground at the load
?
