[SI-LIST] HSpice noise analysis question

SI folks,

This is a question I am passing on from a circuit designer who
is doing noise analysis in HSpice (2001.1). The subject is a
DC circuit using "bsim3v3 noise model parameters". The objective
as I understand it is to determine the amount and spectrum of
random noise. Also, identifying which devices are contributing
most to the noise would be a really good thing to know.

I'm told the HSpice documentation for this feature is a bit thin.
It looks for a defined output and input, then gives a noise spectrun
at the output and an input-referred noise spectrum. This circuit
doesn't really have an input, however, and all the designer wants
is the noise spectrum at a given node.

Any advice would be appreciated. While this question may not be
quite the standard "PCB reflections" type of query, I trust folks
will agree it is certainly of a signal integrity nature.

Thanks in advance.

Mike
