Hi Agathon,

Where in the stack should the conductors be located? From the conductor
coordinates given in your model, the conductors are embedded in the
ground plane.

.MODEL ...
...
+ CONDUCTOR=3D(ORIGIN=3D(0 0) MATERIAL=3Dcopper SHAPE=3Dtrace)
+ CONDUCTOR=3D(ORIGIN=3D(255.6u 0) MATERIAL=3Dcopper SHAPE=3Dtrace)

All conductor locations should have the y dimension greater than 0.

Subject: [SI-LIST] HSpice field-solver syntax for trapezoidal stripline
pair

Greetings,
Now that I'm being subjected to the #(@&!!!?$@$# ! HSpice field solver,
could someone have mercy on me and straighten me out? Solvnet is too
busy
handling the geometric increase in user issues.

I've googled and have the Synopsys manual, all of which either aren't
clear
or (in the case of synopsys) tell absolutely nothing.
I'm confident the only issue is the SHAPE and ORIGIN numbers in the deck
below. The design is asymm. stripline.

MANY THANKS.... Somebody needs to take away Synopsys' ice cream cone,
for
sure.

I use the following deck below and get an error, using ver2007.09 :

IR2D: 2D field solver for magnetic coupling effect
 IR2D: setup
 IR2D: Setting Matrix
Error:Maximum Number of GMRES iterations reached: 500 residue: nan
>error ***** hspice job aborted

The deck below generates the RLGC table file.
