Hey everyone,
Just to let you know that I'm giving a Keynote speech at ESC next Thursday,
1pm, at the San Jose Convention Center. It's free to anyone and I think
you'll find it at best helpful and at worst amusing ;)

The title is:

The Keys to Innovation: Priming your brain to percolate brilliant ideas

I learned a ton about the neuroscience of innovation as I wrote my new book,
The Left Brain Speaks the Right Brain Laughs (check it out:
http://lbsrbl.com "great gift" ;). The ESC organizers checked it out and
agreed asked me to present some simple effective tools that will help you
prime your innovative engine.

Here's the whole description of the presentation:

Whether you're designing a circuit, debugging a SerDes, or painting a lily
pad, you call on your innovative powers every day. In this presentation,
best-selling author or and renowned physicist and engineer Ransom Stephens
will examine the neural processes that percolate insights into
consciousness: the physics of lateral thought, the power of perspective, the
value of novelty, and how your brain selects and rejects ideas before you're
even aware of them. Methods for fine-tuning the balance of stress and
confidence, concentration and distraction that prime our brains to innovate
our way to solutions of the challenges that we each face, as well as those
that we face together, will also be discussed, as will the neuroaesthetics
of what makes products and discoveries good, bad, and valuable.

Thanks and I hope you're having fun!
