To those referencing EMSCAN, I believe this company has gone under, has it not?

There is a plethora of papers in the Antennas and Propagation Society dedicated
to doing exactly that: i.e calculating farfields from near field sources.
EMCScan also has a nice set of papers of very-near- field (!) measurements on
antennas compared to measurements taken in a conventional "stargate" chamber.
Thanks!

Hi Akhil,
it is not directly possible to calculate the far field from a (single Point)
near field. If you have a complete plot of all near fields, then it is possible
to calculate the far fields base don the E-field and H-field distribution. In a
nutshell, you simply add up all E-field vectors of every single test point
that have equal direction and combine them to a single E-field source, then do
the same thing for the H field and calculate the Antenna gain and directivity.
With Frijs formula you can calculate the field strength in every direction and
distance.
In reality this is very complex. The EMSCAN is a really nice tool that does
exactly this without time consuming scanning and calculating.
Mit freundlichen Grüßen / Kind regards.

Hi ,
In our lab we have the facility to measure magnatic and electric field of pcb
board at small distances using R&S near field probes . If I know the maximum
magnetic and electric fields strength at 2cm or 1cm from the pcb , then can I
find field strength at 3meter and 10 meter from the pcb for emc compliance
test. If it's possible please explain the procedures.
