As a trainer I have seen parents (a psychologist) ask me why the dog keeps
biting the boy. The boy was hiding in the dog's crate. I said get the kid out
of the crate and in his own bedroom and the biting will stop. Such fun for the
dog to have another dog around......
And I frequently tell my boys to come or sit or stay if they are being
difficult, still at 13 and 15.
They think its funny. Other around me do give me strange looks. My mom used
to say, I wish I had trained dogs first it would have made kids easier. I am
here to tell you it does.

Back when my daughter was a baby (25yrs now), I would bring her to dog shows.
Her favorite place was the crate with a dog. I did actually close her in
the crate when I was showing. She had a blankie and was sleeping or bored, lol!
Today, that would be child abuse. But, she was content and I didn't have to
worry about her while I was in the ring.
