[ SHOWGSD-L ] world trial

It was mentioned ,in a post, that I submitted the request that we,GSDCA, ask to
host the World Trial
I have had nothing to do with that request and was not involved in any way---
to set the record straight.
I am involved with our Centennial in 2013 but did not submit our proposal to
host the event.
I was asked by Nancy to be the "host" to the foreign dignataries and told her I
would be glad to help.
This event, approved by our Board, will be a very positive thing for the GSDCA
but will be VERY expensive and time consuming for all involved.
I certainly hope that we act together to help in any way possible as Nancy will
need this as well as the support of the entire membership.
It is certainly understandable that much has been posted concerning the
economic impact this event will have on our finances.
I was not privy to the info about the positive cash flow the Club would gain
but this was only a projection and hopefully a correct one!!!
If we "bail out",as some have implied we do, we would lose a lot of respect
with the German Shepherd World but the membership would have to decide which
route to follow.
The Board represents the Members and must honor their wishes but I am sure the
Board gave this a lot of thought and so proceeded.
