I was off chicken for quite a long time after visiting a client on a chicken
farm. OMG! But, you'll be happy to know you no longer have to make a
choice Diane. There is a big move towards ethical farming. Animals are
treated
humanely. Meat, dairy, produce without chemicals, hormones, antibiotics....so
much better for you and tastes so much better too. Start local, find a
farmers' market. Ask questions. (Just because it's in a farmers' market
doesn't
mean it wasn't flown in from South America).
NO, especially during a financial crisis, I'm not going to suggest everyone
do this because it costs a bit more, although who says you need meat EVERY
day? What's wrong w/ a nice risotto w/ spring veggies for dinner one night
this week? Some inexpensive cuts of meat are my favorite anyway...braised
spring lamb shanks...yum.

hoenstly? i did - it was a choice, i DO miss the taste of a great steak or
