That is a shame because they can be overlooked in favor of larger animals, sometimes. I would never penalize an American GSD however for being on the large size, as long as the animal was athletic, not clunky, not too leggy, but a nice package in a larger size. When they get very heavy boned and block headed, as well as tall, they tend to lose their athletic ability, not for me..no thanks.
