I will never forget GVx Langenau's Tango and GV Caesar v Carahaus at my first
National.
If memory serves, The Parade of Greats had Reno, Nanhall's Julip, Eko-Lan's
Glory, amongst others.
I was smitten.
The thrill of my life, still to this day...ok, there are three.....1.) putting
a CD on '71 National WD Ch Salenchar's Brinn v Liebestraum (Lance son out of a
German bitch), 2.) Sitting on the couch at the Freeney's house in 1974 with
Double GV Mike, and, 3.) Harley!!
So, from 1971 until today, I was entranced, and still am entranced, with this
breed and these great dogs.

I came into the breed at the time of Lance, Judd, Mannix ,Scorpio,
Aspen -Being new to the breed I was awe struck. I would still be today if
they were around. I realize there were problems then but oh what dogs. Now
I tend to forget who was gv's were in the last 10 years. I am sure they
were good dogs but there is nothing to compare to the dogs you saw when you
still had stars in your eyes.
Today I remember the bitches - they will be the stars in my eyes tomorrow
Stars in your eyes is good - they give you memories for ever
