Keeping the feeders and/or bird baths is an Ok idea and, if placed at a 
proper
location, will/should keep them in that area.  I know, I did it for years at 
my farm.
As I said and a couple others, and Bud replied, the plastic life like owls, 
crows &
hawks are a great deterrent.  I'd forgotten some will even make noises. 
Actually,
it's usually just a short 1 or 2 week period they flock together, but not 
always.
I hope folks don't think we are bird haters.     Norma

So, I take it by this thread, that putting out bird feeders and bird baths
might NOT be a good idea? I enjoy watching all the beautiful colored birds
visit  the backyard!!
