I think you're missing the part about "incorrectly raised and
handled."
I don't think reasonable is exactly the correct word,
anyway...perhaps "understandable" would be more appropriate.....
There are people who can have these dogs, train them, and maintain
them safely...there are others who enjoy the power and sheer toughness
of these breeds, and who think they can always control them without
putting much effort into it...therefore, the temperament is
correct...it's the owner, AGAIN, AS USUAL, who's at fault...for letting
the natural temperament control the dog instead of the owner shaping the
temperament, which IS there, it IS part of those breeds, to make the dog
fit to live in society.

PEGGY and LYNDA: Regarding such Breeds...I I would just like to say, I
could possibly train a Cobra by playing a Flute.. But God help me if I
dropped the flute!!!!

I do not think these Breeds belong in a world where they come in contact with
humans. They are untrustworthy... Easily set off like faulty Fireworks...
I must admit I am prejudicied here, with that attitude, because I once
stood beside the bed and held the hand of my beautiful 6 year old Grandson,
while the Plastic Surgeon in the ER sewed up his nostril and upper lip
that were laying wide open, from a bite from an untrustworthy dog of a
Hunting
Breed...

Any Dogs of Any Breed that React FIRST and THINK LATER, .. are a danger
to themselves and others..
They are a far cry from those Protective , Guardian Ones who love and
adore their Masters and are under complete control of that Master, because of
that Love and Trust and Devotion, that is based on a two=way commitment and
a
Kind and Loving Trust of that Master....Not beaten into them nor trained
with a Heavy Lead Hand..
