Frequently, if you just put a dog's name into your search engine, you will
get more information than you probably ever desired.

Subject: VA-1 Yasko von Farbenspiel-long and about a German dog

Before we start, this is not an advertisement. I have no monetary interest
in
this dog, nor do I want to cram him down your throats. This is about a
German
dog I saw so you might want to delete this message if you think you are
going to
be offended.
To make this Show related...he was a world sieger twice and there are
American
show bitches being bred to him. Several people plan to show his progeny in
American shows.

While in Texas, I got to go see this guy and lay my hands on him.. Diane
Wright
went with me and can back me up on what I say.

This dog is magnificent in breed type. He is black and red and full
coated
(he carries for long coat). He has a spectacular head, with beautiful dark
almond eyes perfectly placed. His head is all male. There is no mistaking
him
as a boy. His muzzle and back skull are well proportioned and substantial.
While he has a good stop it is not so deep that he looks like he's been hit
with
a 2 X4. He has black gums and lips and large very white teeth. None of his
incisors are worn down. A classic male head.

His neck is very long and well arched and blends well into his shoulder
assembly. His shoulder blades are long and smoothly laid on. His shoulder
blade is angled at about 40-45 degrees. His upper arm is slightly longer
than
his blade and is set at a good 90-100 degrees from his shoulder blade. He
has a
nice posternum without being overdone. His forelegs have beautiful oval
bone
and are straight when viewed from the front. His feet are exceptional. They
are
large and tight with deep pads, dark nails.

His ribs are well sprung. There is nothing slab sided about this dog. His
ribs
extend to his elbows or slightly below. There are no calluses on his elbows
or
his hocks. His ribbing goes well back, further than halfway. His loin is
short
and thick. When you look down on this dog he is broad. His croup is
decently
long (as long as most dogs I've had my hands on) and slopes at about 15
degrees.
Again it is very broad looking down on him. His tail is wonderfully thick
and
long, filling up your hand and very strong. His thighs are very wide and
well
muscled. His second thigh is about the same length as his upper thigh and
his
angles standing (not set up) are adequate. His hocks are average, could be
shorter as so many could be!

He has absolutely no roach in his back. An iron back behind the withers,
yes,
but no roach. He is longer than tall, but his length is not in his loin but
in
his ribbing and croup. This dog is very substantial weighing in around
90-93
lbs and standing about 25-25 1/2 inches at the wither.

This is a very powerful dog. He is very light on his feet and easily hopped
up
on a deck to get his ball. Very athletic. The yard was too small to really
see
what he had for movement but he definitely has that little jog trot that
usually
means they can lengthen and shorten their strides as opposed to just taking
more
steps. He was taking short easy steps with his head up, I'm sure he can drop
his
head and lengthen his frame, under stepping with tremendous power to allow
that
beautiful front to open up all the way. my impression was power and
athleticism. To be nit-picky, I'd want a longer croup (on most every dog
I've
ever seen!) a slightly shorter hock (again a universal problem) and a
slightly
(very slightly) longer second thigh. From the croup forward, he is
faultless.
His temperament and character are also faultless, he is absolutely aloof but
approachable. This is not a Golden Retriever, nor an alligator. He is also
just breathtaking in type and presence.

I hope they take him out so people can see him. I know he was at the USA
sieger
show, not competing but was exhibited for people to see. It is worth it if
you
are in the neighborhood to go see him, contrary to what the woman who is
managing him says he is much more than just a dog who farts and sheds. He is
way
better than his picture
