There is a huge diff because you have to rent a special (nitrogen)
container to ship frozen. It MUST get to the vet who will be doing the
insemination still frozen and they usually want it well in advance of a bitch
being
ready.
Chilled can be reasonable, kits $50-$75, some folks buy their own kits and
do their own collecting, figure another $200+ if they take the dog in to
their vet for collection, evaluation, prep, extenders, spinning down in a
centrifuge etc.
So w/ frozen, there is usually a fee from where the semen is stored to
retrieve + ship + the rental cost of the container. It wouldn't be unusual
for them to take a credit card imprint for the container and just tear that
up when the container is returned.
