Thanks, Dave. I knew if I was wrong someone would correct me. However, it
still sounds like AKC has the last word. LOL Since they have to approve
it, they always have that option to say "NO". :-)

I think AKC does not set standards, they only approve that which is
presented by the parent clubs, thus, GSDCA sets the standard and owns it
and
AKC simply adopts it. AKC only sets rules on how the standard is arrived at
and how it can be changed.

Also, if I am not mistaken the standard is owned by the AKC and not the
GSDCA so anyone can sign the petition. (if i am wrong I am sure someone
will
correct me) No need to be a member of the GSDCA to sign and oppose the
change.
