such is the danger of paraphrasing without understanding or acknowledging
what is actually written.
i was NOT responding to what helen wrote - where on earth did you even
get that? helen and i have been friends for 3 decades. i knew all her dogs,
i used many of her males, the average lifespan of my don quixote and
vancouver litters was over 12 years.
what i WAS responding to was the statement that basically suggested the
correlation between breeding dogs and having children. there are no perfect
dogs. there have never been any perfect dogs and there never WILL be any
perfect dogs. as breeders, all we can do is try our best. if anyone out
there thinks they can eliminate all the issues, or that reading an outdated
book on genetics will have all the answers, i have a pretty gold bridge to
sell them.

Helen is hardly a newbie with stars in her eyes who bought her first show
dog and it wasn't a superstar so now she's not happy. What she said was
SEASONED REGIONAL CLUB MEMBERS had had enough and we'd probably lose the club
OVER HEALTH ISSUES.
