[ SHOWGSD-L ] question on the "13 Club"

Hello,
A friend (long time member of the parent club) just told me that a dog does
not have to have PAST his/her 13th birthday to be entered in the 13 Club. My
Danny will be 13 on May 17th--do I have to wait till after his birthjday?
Also, do you HAVE to be a member of the parent club to be in the 13 Club?
My membership expired back when I wasnt working and I wasnt able to
re-join--so right now-I am not a member. I plan to re-join-but it will be a
couple
months.
