Hi,
Two weeks ago tomorrow, I had a 5 yr old male of mine bloat with 180 degree
torsion, the spleen was not involved. I am so greatful to my breeder for
educated me on bloat and all of the signs. Without Jodi Bobin's knowledge over
the years, I may not have picked up on the very early signs. Gunner thanks you
too Jodi lol.
My question is this, I feed my dogs 1 cup of dry kibble in the morning and 2
cups of dry kibble plus 1/3 cup of a chicken stew that I make for them for
their evening meal. They have been on this food for months now. My Gunner is a
gulper, always has been. A few days after Gunner's surgery there was a subject
on the list of "fast eaters" I did take the advise of some and I started using
a cookie sheet to feed him with, and it does seem to work. It did take him
longer to eat his supper, now tonight was his first night since his ordeal to
eat his regular food. He only got 1 cup of dry and 1/3 cup of chicken stew, he
just got his staples out today and he has to be weaned back on to his regular
amounts. So how many times do you feed your dogs and in what amounts? Should I
be doing something different? Should I try to feed three times a day in
smaller amounts?

Thanks,
Tammy Schaas
