I also have hawks around my bird feeders all the time..watched one chasing a 
cat the other day...it must not have been hungry as it let it 
continue...however, we have other predators on 200 feet of bayou...snakes, 
alligators, owls, etc., therefore, my dogs are never allowed to run freely in 
the unfenced area of the back yard...
