Just my two cents: I was the one who gave an unsound dog of MY breeding a second and third chance. In the early 80's, my black JJ daughter nipped a jogger in the ass (and a very fat ass it was) and went after my landlord, biting him in the upper leg, narrowly missing the family jewels. There were other instances, though not as extreme. I always used excuses: she "thought" the jogger was "after" me, ditto the landlord. It was only after she put out the eye of a 12 week old pup, that I put her down--she was 8, but I should've done it when she was two. Unsound is unsound: I believe temperament is hereditary and BOTH of her parents were unsound, although at the time I was a newbie and didn't understand that. I thought LOVE could cure anything. Well, she LOVED ME, but she was still nuts. Penny in NY ============================================================================ POST is Copyrighted 2005.
