I was also amazed at the number of applications. I checked the Membership
section of the PC's website and I didn't see any mention of an applicant
needing sponsors. Maybe Stormy's right that there was a backlog due to illness.

I was struck by that, too, Sally. Curious, so I counted. There were
156 applicants. Perhaps some were piling up for a bit, waiting for
sponsors, dotting the i's? I think I remember, too, that Dania was
ill for awhile, or was that my faulty memory (again?)
