Thanks, John Vaught, for catching my mistake. That's what I get for
multi-tasking - reading and answering the list while in a meeting at
work. John's correction below is correct:
Statistically, the distribution is 25% pure for sable, 25% black and
tan, and 50% sable with a black and tan recessive.

I think the above is wrong. In your sceanerio you have two sables
each with a b/t gene. Statistically you should get 75% sable and 25%
b/t.
